With special classes on topics ranging from will writing to self-protection, from microwave cooking to quilting, from calligraphy to figuring annual taxes, Homemakers Club members learn a little bit of everything.
“I gained so much confidence,” Mrs. Davis said of her eight years experience with the club. She said that before her activities with the club “I was always a reserved person before an audience.” Holding of-; fice and representing the club helped her overcome her reservations.
Mrs. Riley echoed those sentiments. “I was very shy and a loner. I rarely went out. It helped me to become more sociable. I met people that I would not have met otherwise.”
Introducing new ideas to small communities formed the base for the - Extension Homemakers Clubs. Involving community newcomers' within the group brings definition to the group itself.
