These provisions must appear on all ATV’s sold by retailers in the state.
Family members or employees operating an ATV on a farm or on family-owned land, however, are exempt from the provisions, Mr. Hetzel said. That means as long as you operate an ATV on your own property, or use an ATV for farming activities, you don’t need to adhere to any of the regulations.
Mr. Hetzel said he hopes the law will be beefed up as time goes on. “In my opinion, this is the beginning,” he said. “I predict that in the next few years, we’ll see some of these exemptions done away with.”
