Reunion planned
The annual reunion of the family of the late Alfred and Catherine Gearing Jenkins will be held Sunday. August 13, at the Rappahannock Recreation Center, Route 211, Washington. All relatives and friends are invited to attend. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day. Lunch will be served at 12:30.
'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels'
The movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels will be playing at The Gay Street Theatre on Saturday and Sunday, August 5 and (i. They’re mean, they’re nasty, they’re no good, and they're awfully funny. Michael Caine and Steve Martin play two clashing con-men out to set up a ’“Sting”-like payoff over a bet they’ve made. Martin is hilarious and Caine turns in yet another graceful performance. The movie is rated PG. Admission is $3 adults and $2 students.
Literacy Volunteers to meet
Rappahannock Literacy Volunteers are asked to come to the monthly meeting for August, not on the first Friday but the second Friday , Aug. 11. The time: 9:30 a.m. and the place: Trinity Church Parish Hall, are the same as usual. And, as always, anyone who has not received a high school diploma and wants a recognized equivalent is welcomed to this meeting to learn how to earn one.

Historical Society picnic
The Rappahannock Historical Society will hold its annual picnic on Aug. 11 at 6 o’clock at “Greenwood", the historic home of Mrs. Jean McNear.
