Cheryl Dawn Alexander of Sperryville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lindy C. Alexander of Mt. Sidney, Va. was married to Patrick Scott Mellott of Sperryville on July 29 at 6:30 p.m. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Patrick L. Mellott of Ruckersville.

The ceremony was performed in Salem Lutheran Church in Mt. Sidney with the Rev. Barnard Troutman and Rev. Alfred Fogleman officiating.

The. bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a formal length gown of white bridal satin. The gown featured a sweetheart neckline, full puffy sleeves, a basque waistline, a full skirt and chapel length train. Her fingertip veil of illusion had pearl scatters and was attached to a spray of silk flowers and pearl filaments.

Mr. Lora A. Dury, sister of the bride, of Mt. Sidney was matron of honor.
