Soccer clinic held

Rappahannock County soccer coachesa and players got some top-notch instruction last weekend when Roger Creed, executive director of Euro Soccer Camps Inc. held a clinic at the high school last Saturday. Under the sponsorship of the Rappahannock County Soccer League, the damp attracted about 40 players and v interested adults. Mr. Creed is a former high school, college and club coach, and played professional soccer in England.

Hunter safety course

There will be a hunter education course in Warrenton at the Shadow Lawn Center on Friday, Sept. 21 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 22 from 9a.m. to 4 p.m. The course is sponsored by the Fauquier Department of Parks and Recreation, and is required of all first-time hunters and all hunters between 13 and 15 years of age. Voter registration drive

For the convenience of county residents not registered to vote, General Registrar Nancy Leake announced that her office will hold a voter registration drive during the next several weeks. In addition to her regular office hours, Mrs. Leake will be at the Rappahannock National Bank on Friday, Sept. 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., in Woodville at Burke's Grocery on Friday, Sept. 21 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and at the Castleton VFD fire hall on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. until noon. Her office in the county courthouse is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6, and the last day to register to vote in this year's election is Oct. 6, Mrs. Leake added. 4

Land use applications due

The Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue is now accepting applications from landowners who wish to place their acreage in the county's land use program for the 1990 tax year, according to Commissioner Beverly Atkins. Those already participating in the program should have received renewal forms by mail, which must be signed and returned to the commissiner's office. Anyone who has not received a renewal form, or who wants more information about the program, should contact Ms. Atkins at her office (675-3513). The office is open 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
