Following the parade and throughout the afternoon there will be activities and displays of interest. Photographs, Civil War maps and historical memorabilia will be displayed at the firehouse. A hot dog and lemonade stand sponsored by the Masonic Lodge and old fashioned ice cream at The Plains Pharmacy will foster memories of the early nineties (for some).
A book sale will be held at The Plains Library, and works by local authors will be available. The Farm at Mt. Walden, a smokehouse, store and farm market, will host a Smokehouse Buffet Luncheon to benefit the Virginia Chapter of The Nature Conservancy.
There will also be a crafts festival, health fair, bake sale, open houses, a barbershop quartet, dancing, face painting, balloons and tshirts emblazoned with the town logo.
