Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Fairfax were given a surprise 50th wedding anniversary by their son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Fairfax Jr. of San Diego, California and son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Robert Conova of Roanoke at Christ Church Parrish Hall in Alexandria on Sunday, Sept. 9th.
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Fairfax were married in Christ Church on Sept. 5,1940.
Guests included family and friends from San Diego, California, Dallas, Texas, Eastern Shore ol Maryland, Willamsport, Md., Potomac, Md., Chevy Chase, Md. and Silver Spring, Md. Also Roanoke, Alexandria, Arlington, McLean, Vienna and Middleburg. The Rev. Raymond Davis of Princeton, New Jersey was also a guest for the happy occasion.
Mrs. Frances Eubank is feeling some better after falling in Luray last week. We wish her a speedy recovery.
