The Plains Business and Professional Association is coordinating a birthday party celebrating the 80th anniversary of the incorporation of the Town of The Plains on Saturday, Sept. 22, beginning at 7 a.m. and lasting throughout the afternoon. This event is being sponsored by The Plains Town Council, the Business and Professional Association and The Plains Community League.
The celebration will begin with a Pancake Breakfast at The Plains Volunteer Fire Company from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The Orange County Hunt will assemble in The Plains and depart for a day of foxhunting at approximately 7:30 a.m.
The public ceremonies recognizing the Town’s anniversary and dedication of a new flagpole and plaque will begin at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m., a parade will be held in the Town. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.. The Plains Post Office will sponsor a special commemorative cancellation.
