Scholarships, in the amount of $500 each, are presented annually to outstanding student musicians through the generosity of the Friends of the Mary Washington College-Community Symphony Orchestra.
Miss Nichols is principal clarinetist in the orchestra and has studied piano performance under the direction of Dr. Martha Fickett, professor of music at the college.
Miss Nichol’s other activities at the college include being a member of the women’s varsity lacrosse team, a member of the MWC Wind Quintet, and a resident assistant in her residence hall.
