Wakefield School in Huntly opened its doors this week to begin its 19th year.
Dr. Alan Saunders, the new president of the school, presided over the traditional first day of school assembly. In his remarks to the students and faculty he commented, “I am as excited as you are” and went on to say that he was gratified to hear several veteran teachers express the same sentiments.
Members of the faculty, which numbers 34, introduced themselves to the students. Included were three new faculty members.
Timothy Buchanan, a native of Northern Virginia, received his BA in History and Education and his MA in secondary social studies education from Vriginia Polytechnic Institute.
