To climb a mountain is a test and a challenge. Setting off to reach the pinnacle requires good equipment, proper clothing and training. It takes skill, physical fitness and determination to endure the harshness of the climb. Once invaded, the mountain throws obstacles in the path of the invader. As if to say,

“I will not give up my silent majesty easily."

Many climbers have heard the voices of the mountain and experienced its anger. The howling winds, the bitter cold, lack of oxygen and exhaustion face the intruder who dares conquer it. But once conquered, the victory is sweet.

Like the mountain, neither will God give up His silent majesty easily. Obstacles thrown in our path may make us falter and fail. But He gives us new strength with every new difficulty

To reach God's summit is to climb heavenward. Seek His strength and refuge this week.
