The Virginia Commission for the Arts announces an Oct. 1 deadline for General Operating Support for Arts Organizations and Project Grants for Organizations. Awards made during this grant round will fund activities that occur during the 1992 fiscal year which begins July 1.
General Operating Support provides funds for operating expenses, special projects, construction/renovation, and reserve funds for Virginia organizations which have the arts as a primary purpose.
Project Grants support projects taking place between July 1 and Aug. 31, 1991, including performances, readings, exhibitions, workshops, guest artists, conferences, and a variety of other activities which increase access to and opportunity for high quality art.
Not-for-profit arts, education and government applicants must meet the Commission’s basic eligibility requirements. Applications and the “Guidelines for Funding, 199092” are available from the Commission office. All applicants must read the “Guidelines” before applying.

The Virginia Commission for the Arts is the state agency that supports the arts through funding from the Virginia General Assembly.
