agree that there is no room in our personal budgets to support an extravagant government. It is now more important then ever that through letters and votes we make this point very clear to our elected officials, especially when they have the audacity to even mention the words “tax increase.”

On the subject of budget deficits and aircraft, I wonder why the Governor of Virginia needs a $4 million Citation jet as well as a $3 million Beechcraft King Air? Our company travels quite comfortably in a $500,000 King Air. Just wondering.

To the editor:

An old song ran: “You can tell a man who boozes, by the company he chooses, and the pig got up and slowly walked away.”

Another old song that holds true even today is one that says you can judge a man by his opposition.

The person running against our incumbent Congressman has as a loud endorser an organization of extreme liberals.

In my mind when this organization opposes D. French Slaughter Jr. it stiffens my resolve to vote again for the man who best represents our District as one of us.
