J. Kenneth Robinson, Republican
candidate for the Seventh Congressional District, will spend Monday, September 21, in Rappahannock County. He will tour the various places of business and industry here and meet as many people as possible. Mr. Robinson will officially open the Republican Headquarters at 11:30 a.m. in the old post office building in Flint Hill.
Shooting Matches sponsored by the Washington Fire Company and the Rappahannock Rescue Squad are scheduled to start Friday, October 2 and will continue each Friday night beginning at 7:30 p.m. The matches are held at the Washington carnival grounds and 12, 16 and 20 gauge guns may be used.

20, The Country Store of Washington, Va. will have a demonstration of the ancient crafts of spinning, dyeing and weaving. Annie Kelley is renowned for her natural dyed wool. She uses some common plants — such as goldenrod, walnut hulls and orchard grass — to make her dyes. She will demonstrate just how to utilize these plants in the dyeing process.
Stickers announcing the new telephone number for the Washington and Flint Hill fire and rescue units may be picked up at the post office at Washington. This sticker should be placed on or near telephones and area residents are encouraged to use it.
