That does not, however, mean that controversial themes are absent from the show. Jo Dye’s “For Which It Stands,” for example, with its obvious suggestion of a charred flag dripping with blood, is a strong visual statement — and a compelling one.
“Man’s Doll,” by Tygre Morgan Brown, and “The Royal ****,’’ by Cheryl Bolden, express the artists' strong feelings about the status of women and minorities in our culture. But 1 found "Man’s Doll” offensive.
