Mr. Reynolds said that legally the council is permitted to hold public hearings on both at t|je same time. The council tentatively decided to advertise the Subdivision Ordinance in February and the Historic District Ordinance in March.
• Heard a report from council member Ray Gooch that the town will be passing out small “party favors”—hats, bags and refrigerator magnets—during the new recycling center’s first day being open to county residents, 8 a. m.-noon Saturday, Jan. 4. On that day, and on the firet Saturday of every month, county residents can drop off their recyclables (except newsprint) at the new site next to the Washington Fire Company headquarters on Warren Avenue.
Mr. Gooch also said the town’s regular third-Saturday pickup will take place Dec. 21 and continue in 1992.
This marks the town’s 24th month of recycling.
