Finally the way was cleared for Mrs. Hickerson to return to Costa Rica Dec. 1 and get final approval from the U.S. Embassy in San Jose, the capital. Maria was on a plane to her new home in Rappahannock County Dec. 5.
Their daughter is not a U.S. citizen, but holos a Green Card for the time being, said Mrs. Hickerson. She will be able to decide for herself when she is older if she wants to be a U.S. citizen.
