Ethel Compton

Mrs. Ethel Yancey Compton, 91, of Rixeyville, died Thursday, Dec. 12 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Mrs. Compton was bom in Culpeper County on Sept. 28, 1900, the daughter of the late Oscar and Janie Yancey. She was a member of Alum Springs Baptist Church.

Her husband was the late James Albert Compton.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. James (Hazel) Broyles of Culpeper; one son, James Alvin Compton of Rixeyville; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 15 at Clore Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper with Rev. John Miller officiating. Interment was in
