The Rappahannock Garden
Club will have its annual Christmas Green Sale at the Washington Baptist Educational Building on Saturday, December 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Members of the club are asked to contribute door decorations, wreathes and arrangements suitable for the interior by 9:30 a.m. Mrs. George H. Davis Jr. is chairman of the Green Sale and she is assisted by Mrs. Thomas Rees. Orders are being accepted in advance and so far wreathes and cookies head the list.
Flint Hill Fire Company has begun its annual series of winter dances. The first dance will be on Friday, Dec. 15 at the fire hall beginning at 9 p.m. The Rhythm Ramblers will furnish the music. Admission is $1.25 per person. A second dance will be held Dec. 29 and others will be announced at a later date.

for Environmental Protection presented a statement Monday before the State Corporation Commission hearing in Richmond in opposition to a rate increase application by the Virginia Telephone & Telegraph Company. With SCC approval, the least expensive 4-party rural service basic rate would jump $2.50 per month, nearly 50 percent.
