quickly, said Mrs. Hickerson, partly because Maria was exposed to English at the orphanage. She and new sister Jennie are enrolled at Fresta Valley Christian School near Marshall and are looking forward to Christmas and, later, a promised visit to Disney World.
“She’s a real sweet little girl; you’ll find a lot of these children are,” said Mrs. Hickerson. “I guess because they’ve never had, like the children have here, they are just so appreciative of what you do for them.”
