Trees could
have a use
To the Editor:
Yesterday a friend told me she got her Christmas tree by pulling a “road-kill” from the bulldozed pile across from the high school. Having cut woodland pines over the years, I know just about any tree brought indoors to trim at Christmas is perfect and welcome and initiates the Christmas season. I wonder why VDOT couldn’t have offered the two rows of pines to anyone who wanted to cut their own or dig their own before bulldozing? VDOT has received a lot of response from the community through the Adopt-a-Highway program and I’m sure they would’ve had some response to a tree given away this close to Christmas. ,
