Rep. Frank Wolf

“They didn’t worry about all i those things—they were looking in terms of, ‘How can we get this out to West Virginia?’ . . . You want to help, but you don’t help one region by tearing down another.”

In early November, members of the House and Senate reached a compromise agreement on the CIA consolidation that authorizes $10 million for land acquisition, but provides that the money cannot be spent until the agency submits a report that details the impact that the move will have on its employees, evidence that its plans will result in a cost savings, and certification that the process for selecting a site and acquiring land will follow procedures used by the General Services Administration, the government’s landlord.

Rep. Wolf also said he has no plans to move from the 10th District to seek election in another district. After newly-elected Rep. George Allen was redistricted out of the 7th District, some Republicans suggested Rep. Wolf should move to make room for Rep. Allen to run next year for the 10th District seat.

“My home is in the 10th District,” he said firmly. “I’ve said wherever my home is, that’s where I will run. And that’s where I am.”
