To the Editor:

I would like to thank everyone who has so generously donated to the new Rappahannock County Library.

First, I would like to thank our volunteers: Mary Stuart Bain, Barbara Gentry, Norman Getsinger, John and Julie Hartline, Elisabeth Johnson, Cathy Knuepfer, Dorothy Kuncewicz, Holly May, Susan McCarthy, Sam McDermott, Edith Pond, Diane Reyland, Ruth Richards, Mary Edna Schaefer, Celine Siira, Erika Sinnott, Grace Sims, Frances Thornton, Arlene Wake, Mary Walters and all the other individuals for their time and commitment. Without these individuals we would be unable to offer the book selection and services the library now is able to offer.

Secondly, I would like to thank Mitzi Young and the Library Program Committee for the planning and presenting of Rappahannock Perspectives, our first Friday evening series of programs about Rappahannock County. These programs have been and continue to be a great success.

Third, thanks to all of you who have generously donated to the Friends of the Library current fund drive. Last of all thanks to those of you who have donated subscriptions and new books. Last month more than one-half of the 200 books acquired were donated to the library.

The library is well used. Our book circulation statistics continue to rise each month. When comparing book circulation statistics with last year at this time we have an 85 percent to 105 percent increase from last year. We have a 7,000 percent increase in the number of individuals \signing up for library cards and an

increase of 28 percent in the number jai people using the library.

If you haven’t been into the new Rappahannock County Library, please come visit. We offer a variety of materials, programs and services. Thanks to everyone that is helping the library grow.
