RAA activities
The R.A.A. Little League will be holding an auction at 2 p.m. on June 14 at Stuart Field in Amissville. Rain date is June 28. Items are needed for the auction. Anyone wishing to donate any items, please call Rich Pentecost at 937-5976 or Becky Putnam at 703-347-1128.
Another fundraiser will be the mothers’ and fathers’ softball games. The mothers’ game will be at 2 p.m. May 31 at Stuart Field and the fathers’ game will be at 2 p.m. June 7 at Stuart Field. The year R.A.A. will be hosting the Babe Ruth District Five, 10 and under, tournament beginning on July 2. Teams will come from several surrounding counties to participate. Our fields are in need of bleachers, dug-outs, and homerun fences. If anyone is interested in donating any of these items, any part of these items or volunteer to help build them please call Danny Holloway at 937-4258, Billy Dodson at 937-4353 or Becky Putnam at 703-347-1128. All donations are tax deductible.
Fourth of July activities
The Fourth of July patriotic program for the afternoon of the 4th is being planned. If you have an appropriate presentation for this program, please contact Ellen Manson at 675-1349. At this time the program includes patriotic reading, patriotic and American songs/group sing along, colonial dancing, and a colonial sermon.
Farmers' market to open.
The Rappahannock Farmers’ Association plans to organize and open a new Rappahannock Farmers’ Market in the summer of ’92. Anyone wishing to sell homegrown produce and/or homemade crafts, baked goods or specialties should identify their market interests and send name, address and telephone number to the Rappahannock Farmers’ Association Inc., P.O. Box 348, Sperryville, Va. 22740.
CPR class
The Mothering Cooperative will sponsor another children’s and infants CPR class from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at the C’hild Care and Learning Center. A $2 donation is requested. Child care will; be available, but those requiring child care will need to pre-register by' calling Cathy Kreyling at 987-8131.
