The Washington Architectural Review Board turned down a request by Claybert Smoot to replace four-pane windows in his house with ones with two panes.
Mr. Smoot brought a sample of the window he wanted to the ARB meeting last Thursday. Member Evelyn Willis noted that he was proposing a window with one pane over one pane, while his house has windows that have two panes over two panes.
Chairman Donna Kevis noted that the ARB had allowed Mr. Smoot to cover his house with vinyl siding at last month’s meeting. “We’re really losing your house if we let the windows go too,” she said.
