Spring was a busy time for the club. In April, two truckloads of trash were picked up along the Adopt-a-Highway section of Route 231.
In early May the club continued its tradition of beautifying the Courthouse grounds and window boxes. This year it added the grounds of the Library, planting shrubs and ground cover. Members appreciated the assistance of trustees from the local jail for the heavier work. Trustees also endured the rain to turn over ground for additional garden area at the Library for the Junior Garden Club. Various perennials now join the bulb garden beneath the big rock along the drive.
In mid-May, a memorial service was held on the lawns of the Courthouse to remember members’ loved ones who passed away during the year.
