Rappahannock County Garden Club president Marian White opened the May 20 meeting with the proud statement that the club took major honors at the recent state convention: four district awards for scholarship, yearbook, newsletter, and club publications; the state award for Christmas open house; and a certificate of excellence for club accomplishments for the year. The Rappahannock Club competes with 76 District clubs and 376 statewide.
Following the business meeting, members etyoyed a presentation by Virginia artist and color authority Linda Lewis Taylor. As a master judge of flower shows, Mrs. Taylor judged the club’s May exhibits of flower arrangements in water and horticulture specimens.
