We all know that prayer is not allowed in school. However, five years ago began what has been called the “fastest growing teen led prayer movement in the world.”
“See ya at the pole” began in Dallas, Texas with only 30 kids and has soared to over two million students participating. On the morning of Sept. 20, Anna Metcalf (President of the Bible Club) led about 20 Rappahannock students along with a few parents and members of the administration in a prayer around the flagpole in front of the school. “See ya at the pole” is a nationwide event and completely student run.
Has anyone heard of the new business starting at RCHS! Marie Andreoni, John Arnold, Nathan Flinchum and Holly Gangel are Starting a tourist agency at Rappahannock County High School. This is the plan of the new Leadership Processing and Management class which is taught by Dr. Gangel and Mr. Vickers.
The four juniors were chosen by Mr. Raines and Mr. Vickers to test out an idea that Dr. Gangel observed in Alaska.
They plan to arrange for metropolitan area tourists, 1-2 day visits to the county, thus increasing the economics of Rappahannock small businesses. The expeditions shall include hiking, fishing, horseback riding and a vast assortment of local inns. The group hopes to receive a grant for the money needed to begin advertising.
The quartet call themselves the “Paradigm Pioneers.”
