Columbus Day on the 9th offers us another long weekend. The month also brings us those brilliant fall colors of foliage when the green of the leaf s chlorophyll disappears and the always existing colors are them visible.
l.ook for Indian Summer, those warmer day in Autumn, but only after the first killing frost which is scheduled for on or about the 10th. Look for and enter those “Woolly Bears.”
Remember to “fall back” the last Sunday, the 29th and set the clocks back one hour regaining the one we “lost” in April.
The Garden: Following the last of the year’s harvest, clean up organic debris and deposit in the compost pile for next year’s “black gold.”
