Corinne and Dirgham Salahi first planted vines in 1977 and began marketing their wines three years later. Corrine Salahi recently reflected over those years with stories of past harvests. She tells a story of coming home from a day as a teacher to find her husband in the vineyards with a shovel digging and covering the roots of the vines.
Dirgham called for her to stop her car and told her the bad news of a forecasted hard freeze. She continued, “There I was, in my teacher’s attire with heels and hose on, with a shovel digging in the vineyard.” ► See OASIS, Page 7
