in wine-making, Corpora first learned the basics from the then winemaker at Barboursville Vine yard, Gabrielle Raffi. Corpora also worked closely with Bruce Zoecklin, the state enologist and assistant professor of food science at the Virginia Institute of Technology.

“As I gained knowledge and experience, I realized that each year I understood more of what was being told to me about winemaking,” she says.

The 17-acre vineyard grows small amounts of chenin blanc, gewurztraminer, chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, riesling, and pinot noir.
