The board approved a student’s request to construct bleachers for watching soccer for his Boy Scout Eagle project. Jim Clarke said he and ^other members of Troop 36 would do most of the work at his house and assemble the bleachers at the high school October 28.
They also heard a report on plans by the new Leadership and Process Management class to encourage tourism in the county and promote local businesses. The group plans to produce a brochure and video to further this goal.
Jon Heddlestori reported the group working to promote a wrestling program at the school had raised $4,600, enough to purchase a wrestling mat. The money will be deposited in a high school account and the mat will be ordered.
The board toured a special education classroom to see what is being done to prepare students for the transition from school to work. Students produce several products for sale to the public.
