Professional choreographer and performer, Sharon Wyrrick will dance her way into another year as the Virginia Commission of the Arts artists in residence at RCHS.
Her love of the arts and strong conviction that they should be incorporated into daily life guarantees a year of great creativity at the high school.
Originally from Oklahoma, Ms. Wyrrick was selected by the school to come to RCHS for a second year to incorporate a variety of art forms into the curriculum. Because she feels that in today’s society it is very hard for busy students to take advantage of art, she will try to make it an element in the school day that all students can take advantage of.
The theme for this year’s residency is “Stories Are told in Many Languages.” According to Ms. Wyrrick, it’s a theme that is applicable to many subject areas and opens doors for student involvement.
