in “French Country” in southwest Virginia, off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Meadows of Dan. With its restaurant serving lunch Wednesday through Sunday and dinner on Friday and Saturday, the winery is a perfect venue for tasting its selection of chardonnay and merlot as well as its Black Dog wine blends. When asked about the Black Dog label, a winery worker commented casually that “the owners have a black dog.” Black Dog Jazz weekends occur the second weekend of every month.
