The other half of the Bosch household, husband K.C., faced the opposite problem Saturday. His U-14 team lost to Orange Rec", 6-0. “We got handily beaten again, and this was a team we had beaten handily last year,” said Mr. Bosch.
Other Rappahannock soccer scores were closer.
Maggie Rogers was pleased with her all-girls’ team results, losing 0-1 to Culpeper. “We lost, but what a wonderful game!” She said her girls seem to be narrowing the gap with each match. “Next I expect a tie and then a win.”
Two U-8 teams — the Robins and the Cardinals — had good weeks. The Robins won their first game, 2-1, and tied their second, 2-2, against St. Luke’s. Alex Ramey scored his first goal ever in a game, and Dylan Corbin scored the others. The Cardinals won their second game against St. Luke’s, 2-1, after losing their first with the reverse score. Matthew LawTey scored all their goals.
The other U-8 team, the Cannonballs, lost their games narrowly to Madison, 4-2 and 1-0.
Mike McKiernan’s U-12 team tied Fauquier-1 V, 1-1. Carl Letsen’s U-10 team lost to St. Luke’s 3-1.
