Dumpsters
Members of the Board of Supervisors say they do not know when they may be able to close the dumpsters at Huntly and Scrabble and open a centralized site for trash and recyclables that is fenced and manned. It may not happen for four more years, some of them say.
They say they have been unable to locate a suitable centralized site.
1 his situation is intolerable. Every day the county risks the possibility that someone may dump concentrated hazardous waste into one of the dumpsters. If it was subsequently put into the landfill, the county might be forced to close the landfill, resulting in an expensive cleanup and leaving county residents with no approved place to put trash.
The county owns sufficient land at the elementary school and School Board site to locate such a facility if no other place can be found.
