Neighbor Steve Hensley expressed concern about the temporary site’s septic system. Both Mr. Baumgardner and architect and builder Sam Clifton responded by noting that the system was designed for school use in accordance with Health Department guidelines and, since Castleton Farms is a working farm, the owners had to ensure that the septic system worked properly and that the system is tested regularly.
Another neighbor, Jimmy Cannon, said that he was concerned about traffic and possible problems that would create with emergency vehicle access, and also read from a letter that his father, Ray Cannon, had sent Opposing the application. In that letter Ray Cannon complimented the Planning Commission on keeping Rappahannock rural, and said that he would “like to see it kept that way."
Sam Clifton responded by saying that any increase in traffic would likely affect the permanent, and not the temporary site, and both he and Mr. Baumgardner said that the school functions
