A Sperryville man was Charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he wrecked his car on Route 707 last week.
Lawrence Church, 62, was driving on Rt. 707 east of Route 231 on the afternoon of Feb. 16 when he ran off the right side of the road and struck an embankment.
Church, who was alone in the car, suffered minor injuries. He was charged with DUI by Trooper Gary Settle, Virginia State Police.
Church’s 1988 Buick 4door received an estimated $1500 in damages.
