“He was a kind, gentle, warm fellow who was an expert at creating wonderful sport with foxhounds,” Rouse added. “It is a shame that more hunting professionals aren’t more like him.”
Rouse said that the hunt’s point-to-point races would be sadder without Milne to lead the post parades. *
“Ian will certainly be missed.”
Kevin Palmer is now the Fairfax huntsman. He spent two seasons working directly with 4 Milne. “With the guidance Ian gave him, Kevin has been able to pick up the horn and have the hounds work for him, and with him,” Rouse said.
Milne is survived by his wife Brenda Varner Milne, a sister in Massachusetts, and two sisters and a brother in England. ^
