Photo courtesy of Jim Jennings Cub Scouts from Troop 550, Den 8 in Jeffersonton, paid a visit on Saturday, Feb. 12 to the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Amissville construction crew lot. While at the VDOT lot, the cubs learned from Jack Hillman, how the VDOT crews mix the sand and salt mix used on the roads, and which roads are plowed first. A big treat for the cub scouts was when Neal Atkins from the Washington area headquarters fired up the big snowblower.
