nal home at the old State Fairgrounds on Lambumum Avenue was sold last year for a NASCAR track. A new fairgrounds is being planned for eastern Henrico County, but the Strawberry races will be held this term at Colonial Downs in nearby New Kent County.
Though Colonial is a parimutuel track, no on-track wagering is planned for the April 15 event. Infield parking, however, is expected, and regular admission will be offered as usual. The race card will also be similar to the old one; portable timber fences are being considered so the historic Deep Rim Hunt Cup open timber race can be contested on the track.
