on six of seven continents: only Antarctica does not have racing. ‘Chasing centers are found in England, Ireland, Australia, Chile, Japan, a recent and surprising addition, and of course, good old Virginia.
Of 50 steeplechase meetings from February through May in the U.S., Virginia leads the way with 16 scheduled. Of those, four meets are sanctioned by the National Steeplechase Association along with the Virginia Steeplechase Association. The balance are run under the auspices of the Virginia Point-toPoint Association.
