• Mrs. Karen Ellis, National Honor Society Sponsor at RCHS, is happy to announce that two NHS seniors were nominated for the National Honor Society Scholarship Program. They are: Jami Gillis of Sperryville and Mark Williams of Chester Gap. Only two seniors from each high school could be nominated and the 200 winners will receive a $1,000 scholarship. , Winners will be announced in May.

• Nominees were selected based on their leadership skills, participation in service organizations and clubs, achievement in arts and sciences, employment experience, and academic record. They also were required to write an essay. We wish these two outstanding seniors the very best as they await the final announcement.

• As March approaches, thoughts of warmer aqd longer days fill our minds. If your students are interested in playing a community sport this spring, please watch the paper for registration deadlines. Hanging out on the soccer or baseball fields in the springtime can become a healthy habit!
