Mrs. Clark was President of the Washington Ladies Auxiliary for over 30 years and served as past Treasurer for the Washington Volunteer Fire Department for a number of years. Mrs. Clark was very active with the Washington Rescue Squad for many years, while her husband served as Captain of the Squad. Mrs. Clark remembers a time when she and Rev. Jennings Hobson went on a call on Route 231 to the home of a lady having a baby. Mrs. Clark attended to the patient and baby and “Jenks drove" recalls Mrs. Clark. Mrs. Clark worked for nine years at the Aileen Factory in Flint Hill. She also did private duty for the elderly as well as various babysitting jobs. Her connections to the Rappahannock News goes back to the days of Bruce Bowie when she contributed “Bits and Pieces” of various news items. She. continues today as the Washington community correspondent. Mrs. Clark’s hobbies include word puzzles and watching TV game shows. She enjoys collecting coins and TY Beanie Babies.
