The first application heard by the Planning Commission was not nearly as controversial. Lawrence and Kathy Nolan requested Commission approval to increase the number of permitted dogs at their kennel from ten to thirty. One letter was cited in opposition to the application for concerns about additional noise, but the Nolans said that they bring all of the animals in by 9 p.m., and the barking referred to did not originate at their facility.
Their application included plans of their 17 acre property on Scrabble Road and of kennel improvements designed to accommodate the increased pet population. Public comment supported the Nolan’s application and the quality of pet care provided by The Pet Tailor, and the Commission voted to approve and forward the application to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
