Tax bills mailed
2001 Rappahannock County tax bills have been mailed and must be paid on or before Dec. 5, 2001 to avoid a penalty. Failure to receive a bill through the mail does not relieve the taxpayer of any additional charges that will accrue under law for failure to pay by the deadline. Anyone with questions should call the Rappahannock Treasurer’s Office at 675-3334 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Rappahannock Registrar's Office will be open on Saturday, Oct. 27 and again on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for absentee voting.

A semi-annual ritual will be observed this weekend across the country as Americans regain that hour of sleep they lost in April. Sunday at 2 a.m. marks the official end of Daylight Saving Time, and means relief for those early risers who get up before the sun. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour before going to bed Saturday night.
