We weren’t too happy when our decade-long association
with Fauquier in the old 31st House
District ended with the current redistricting. But we are pleased that Allen Louderback of Luray, the Republican candidate for the 15th District of which we are now a part, is running for re-election.
Louderback, a former federal government executive who is now a small businessman in Luray, was first elected to the House of Delegates in 1999. During his freshman term, compiled a very good record of accomplishment.
Louderback was appointed to serve on a number of important House committees, including Finance, Conservation and Natural Resources, Agriculture and Militia and Police.
He was the patron of several bills, including commonsense legislation that freed employers from being liable for unemployment benefits for employees in work-release programs, and permitting law enforcement and emergency personnel to operate all-terrain vehicles on public roads when responding to emergencies.
In addition, he was the patron of a bill that authorized Warren County - then in his district - to establish standards for private wells and testing of above-ground water sources before allowing the issuance of building permits.
