house came the most beautiful creature he had ever seen!

Her black hair glistened in the sunlight. Her eyes were a deep, warm, and sparkling brown. Her every movement was as graceful as a dancer’s. And she was moving, gulp, toward him!

And then ... in a moment of pure magic . . . they were standing face to face, and oh, what a face! Lucky felt himself tingling all over. He realized he was almost drooling, his tongue flailing. Oh, how could he make a good first impression? He just didn’t know what to do - here was a real girl-to-the-manor born, and he was just a boy from the streets.

But she kissed him ... he kissed her back ... and nothing else mattered ... they were in love!

Each afternoon, when his mom went to her mom’s. Lucky and Schuyler romped and played. Schuyler took him to her pond, and taught him how to swim. He taught her how to play hide-and-seek. They shared their drinks under the shade of the tree. This, they decided, this love, was what had been missing, and now, life was complete! And they now are living happily ever after.

The End.

(Not quite. Schuyler’s mom, Nancy Weitz, and Lucky’s mom, Melinda Arneson, were co-chairmen of the Trinity Episcopal Church House Tour, and for months they met in the afternoons to plan the event. This meant many wonderful opportunities for Lucky’s and Schuyler’s love story to grow and grow. Now who would have expected The House Tour to provide love in the afternoon!?)
