The Old Sperryville Bookshop will host Col. Wolfgang Samuel, author of “German Boy. A Child in War,” at a book signing and discussion Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. Col. Samuel’s book is a compelling memoir of growing up in Germany during and after World War II, a book that author Stephen E. Ambrose says “has all the qualities of greatness.”
Col. Samuel is a retired U.S. Airforce pilot who emigrated to America after the war. To reserve a copy of the book and a place at Friday’s talk, call the book shop at 987-8444 before Friday.
