James Robert Sisk, 84, died on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at the Orange County Nursing Home.
He was born in Rappahannock on Oct. 20, 1916 to the late Will and Annie Bates Sisk.
His wife, Gussie E. Sisk of sixty-two and one-half years predeceased him on Feb. 25, 1997.
The youngest of seven children, all his siblings also predeceased him including brothers, Andrew Sisk, Wallace Sisk and Early Sisk and sisters, Pearl Frazier, Adlee Dodson and Gladys Jenkins.
Survivors include his daughter and ' son-in-law, Peggy and Edward Woodward of Orange; two brothers-inlaw, John W. (Billy) Jenkins and his wife, Susie of Lignum and Raymond Jenkins and his wife, Frances of Manassas plus many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
He managed and later leased Mayhurst Farm for over 40 years, farming, raising cattle and hauling livestock.
Mr. Sisk attended both Methodist and Baptist Churches all of his life.
